
The stone masons have arrived, and as soon as the weather permits, should start installing the 8 ft. sections of stone on the sides of the Temple. Natural gas heaters are used to heat the basement through the third floors at this time, with the fourth and fifth floors still exposed. Inside many things are happening. The font and basement areas are stillbeing worked on. The interior framing has begun with drywall justbeing started. The stairs are still being poured in the front cornersof the Temple, which is very involved since the North West stairway isa circular stairway, with elevator shafts. Many of the Windows arecomplete, being built in Nauvoo by Charles Allen at the Allyn House and will be installed after the stone is in place. Electrical work, plumbing, sprinklers, alarms and other utilities are currently being installed.

Construction workers are back on the job, rebuilding theTemple
after a holiday break.

January 6th 2001. Structural steel complete for the bell tower,the
whole scene in the roof is the access way into the bell/clock tower,for maintenance
access. A ladder will be erected for the maintenance personnel to enter.
Concrete will be poured above the ribbed steelcreating the roof for the attic
box and the base for the bell/clock tower.

The generator that will supply all backup electricity for theTemple.

Steel re-bar being lifted by crane to the fifth story roof for reinforcement

8 January 2001. Window removed to load building materials into temple.

8 January 2001. Scott Downs, currently from Nauvoo, using a transit
to mark the final stone elevations on the wall of the Temple. Steel
supports are being anchored to the walls in preparation for the firstrows
of hand laid limestone blocks. The hand laid limestone blockswill be
placed up to the first floor level or approximately where the concrete
color changes in this photograph.

15 January 2001 the attic box fifth story roof has been pouredand sealed
in with clear plastic to retain the heat.

15 January 2001 Computer enhance photograph of the stainlesssteel supports
anchored to the temple concrete walls in preparation forstone that should
arrive the end of this week.

15 January 2001. With the weather a bit milder, construction
picks up pace. Inside basement and font area partitions are beinginstalled
with wiring and plumbing following close behind. The Celestialroom
is about ready for the modified steel trusses to the installed whichwill
close in the room structurally. The approximately 40 ft. tallroom is
at the third floor level, but extends through the fourth floorand into the
attic on the East end of the building. This should makea spectacular
room with its period decor and woodworking. Stone workis to begin just
after the first load of stone arrives from Salt Lake City,sometime around
the 19th or 20th of January.

delivery of drywall and steel petition framework. The petitionframework
was delivered to the second and third floors, with drywall deliveredto the
first four and basement.

Taken from three different angles, much can be seen of the interior ifyou
carefully study the details. On the left photograph in the topwindow
the third story support column can be seen that will be in a partitionwall
in a series of rooms that will lead to be celestial room. Thebottom
window openings show scaffolding that is being used for wall andceiling work
in the first floor area. In the right photograph inthe top window the
opening for the celestial room that goes completelyup to the attic can be
seen. As the other photographs taken thisdate show that the roof itself
is now steel framed, but still open.
