2 January 2001.
The steel roof trusses are still being installed, though hampered by zero degree weather and high winds over the past weeks.  The steel supports for the tower appear to be almost complete, ready for the towersteel to be erected.  This photo is deceiving in that there is over12" of snow on the ground, and though blue skies and sunshine prevails,it is still very cold.  Friday and Saturday of this week is supposed to bring in warmer weather above the freezing level which hopefully willallow for the completion of the steel roof trusses and allow the construction workers to start on the roof itself.

The stone masons have arrived, and as soon as the weather permits, should start installing the 8 ft. sections of stone on the sides of the Temple.  Natural gas heaters are used to heat the basement through the third floors at this time, with the fourth and fifth floors still exposed.  Inside many things are happening.  The font and basement areas are stillbeing worked on.  The interior framing has begun with drywall justbeing started.  The stairs are still being poured in the front cornersof the Temple, which is very involved since the North West stairway isa circular stairway, with elevator shafts.  Many of the Windows arecomplete, being built in Nauvoo by Charles Allen at the Allyn House and will be installed after the stone is in place.  Electrical work, plumbing, sprinklers, alarms and other utilities are currently being installed.

Construction workers are back  on the job, rebuilding theTemple after a holiday break.
