Not much can be seen from the outside, however inside many skilled
craftsmen are at work petition walls, installing plumbing, electrical wiring,
fire protection equipment, heating ventilation and air conditioning.
The font in the basement is near completion except for the twelve oxen
have yet to be put in place. All stairway concrete work is complete
and much of the third floor partitioning is complete. The structural
part of the tower is now complete, awaiting the finished panels that surround
it. Many of the construction trailers have been moved from Temple Square
to a parking lot behind the Clark store (the current temple construction
office). This will enable landscaping to be started over the next
several weeks. The metal fencing that was installed several years
ago around Temple Square has been removed, for a new fence to be erected.
The new fence will be similar to that on other temples in the United States.
The utility building is being ready for its permanent roof and for its
finished brick siding. Once the hand laid stone work is complete
on the front (West) and rear (East) sides of the Temple, the rest of the
stone will go up quite quickly. The current goal is to have the stone
work complete by the end of June.

First installed window. 10 May 2001. This window
on the South side of the Temple is the first window installed. Built
by Allyn Historic Sash Company in Nauvoo, these beautiful windows are going
to greatly enhance the historic architecture of the Temple.
Additional windows should be being installed as the stone work continues.
